You can also freeze a slice of liverwurst. For this, slice up liverwurst. Wrap small piece of wax paper around each slice. So they can separate easily after freezing. Put them in a zipper bag.
You can consume unopened ones kept in the freezer for over 6 months with no quality compromise.

How to Thaw Liverwurst?
As I said above Liverwurst stay safe in the freezer for a month or two. If you want to use liverwurst or want to thaw it, it is a good idea to pull out from freezer before one day.
Allow it to thaw overnight in the refrigerator. It helps to keep liverwurst at food-safe temperature.
I don’t recommend to microwave liverwurst for thawing. It creates hot spots on liverwurst and makes it drier.
